The Breast Cancer Gala Dinner is the main fund-raising event for the Breast Cancer Foundation for the year. These funds are vital to enable us to continue to offer physical, financial and emotional support to not only the breast cancer patient but their immediate family members as required. This can be so vital for husbands, wives, partners, children – who can be left floundering by the news of a diagnosis of breast cancer.
Our work is so valuable and essential and so many are dependent on us. No-one knows how they would cope with such a diagnosis of breast cancer, but they should know that we will be there for them in any way possible. We simply cannot do this work without help from YOU!
The First Breast Cancer Gala Dinner was held in October 2008 and was meant to be a one-time event, due to is success and the obvious need for these funds here in the community of Cayman, Kim Lund, James Bovell and John Broadbent decided to make in an annual fundraising event and the Breast Cancer Foundation was formed and registered as a non-profit charitable organization. The evening is the main fund raiser for the Foundation and raises vital funds for the Foundation and its many programs, all aimed at helping anyone with living here in the Cayman Islands and is worried about breast cancer or has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The black (actually pink) tie event starts at 6 p.m. with a bubbly reception and followed by a three course dinner, wine included, fabulous entertainment, a specially invited speaker, live and silent auctions, this is an elegant and fun filled event.
