Maples and Calder, Cayman’s leading law firm, has signed on as a platinum sponsor of the upcoming Breast Cancer Gala Dinner for the second year in a row. The third annual Gala is set to be held at the Ritz-Carlton on October 16th and as in years past, promises to be one of the most anticipated and attended annual charity events on the Island.
“Maples had shown tremendous support towards this worthy cause.” said Kim Lund, Owner/Broker of RE/MAX Cayman Islands. “Maples’ contribution will aid local breast cancer patients and projects. Their sponsorship is an amazing gift to our islands and will help bring local awareness and prevention to the forefront.”
All proceeds of the Gala Dinner will be donated, via the newly established Breast Cancer Foundation, to breast cancer related initiatives of The Cayman Islands Cancer Society and the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens.
“Maples and Calder is delighted to be a platinum sponsor of the Breast Cancer Gala for the second consecutive year. We support the Breast Cancer Foundation’s work in addressing the healthcare needs of our community,” Maples partner, Paul Lumsden said.
The third annual, pink tie charity event will include a three-course menu, silent and live auctions, in addition to guest speaker and Opera luminary Barbara Padilla. Ms. Padilla is a cancer survivor who after several years of treatments is now in remission. She rose to fame in 2009 after her powerful appearance on America’s Got Talent reality contest, created by Simon Cowell, with celebrity judges David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne.
