Uniting Cayman Against Breast Cancer
The Breast Cancer Foundation, a registered Non-Profit Organisation in the Cayman Islands (Registration No. NP-124), was established in 2009 to provide hope, support, and resources to individuals and families impacted by breast cancer.
What began as a tribute by Kim Lund to his late wife, Brenda Tibbetts-Lund – an advocate for breast health even before her own diagnosis – has evolved into one of Cayman’s most impactful charities. From the inaugural Brenda Tibbetts-Lund Memorial Walk/Run in 1999 to today’s prestigious annual Gala Dinner, our community-driven events continue to raise vital funds for awareness, education, and patient care.
Today, the Foundation supports over 500 people through a wide range of programmes:
- Wellness Programme: offering medical and holistic services, one-on-one counselling, wigs, prosthetics, bras, and cold caps for chemotherapy patients.
- Awareness Programme: educating the community on the importance of self-examination and early action.
- Early Detection Programme: providing free mammograms and ultrasounds to those without insurance or the means to afford screening.
We also invest in specialist training for local practitioners, ensuring world-class care is available right here in Cayman.
Transparency and accountability remain at the heart of our mission. With audited financials published annually and full reporting to our donors, every contribution is used responsibly to directly benefit breast cancer patients and survivors.
From humble beginnings, the Foundation has grown into a beacon of compassion and strength—uniting Cayman in the fight against breast cancer.
