The 2013 BREAST CANCER GALA DINNER was held on SATURDAY OCTOBER 5TH at the Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman.
560 breast cancer gala guests enjoyed a phenomenal evening of great entertainment and superb food! The incomparable Vicki Wheaton was MC for the night so there was never a dull moment. Her smooth wit and hysterical hats set the scene for a great time.
Keynote speaker HODA KOTB (of the Today Show with Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb) was charismatic, benevolent, and fun! During the champagne reception, guests were delighted that Hoda mixed and mingled with them and never refused a photo op.
During dinner, Hoda was as surprised as everybody else when the “3 Waiters” suddenly burst into song and wowed the crowd. One of the ‘waiters’ masqueraded as a Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman maitre d’ and the other two as waiters (complete with RCGC uniforms). Their powerful voices filled the beautiful ballroom with awe and amazement, soon turning into fun and laughter with guests twirling their napkins overhead and the “maitre d'” serenading Hoda!
Jill Conley attended as a guest of the Breast Cancer Foundation and formed a strong bond with Hoda. They shared the stage during Hoda’s incredibly poignant speech and there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. Jill has since appeared on the Today Show when anchors featured key people who have inspired them. For Hoda it is Jill. Her story and video are featured on this site.
The Breast Cancer Foundation is incredibly fortunate and honored to have Hoda Kotb, a valiant breast cancer survivor, as its patron.
Funds raised through BCF activities, such as the Gala, are used for a wide range of needs. These range from aid to local breast cancer patients, funding for the Cayman cancer register, C.I. Cancer Society programs, breast cancer educational assistance, sponsoring mammograms, and other breast cancer-related needs. Please find more information on our website.
The goal of the Breast Cancer Foundation is to be able to provide an increasing amount of financial assistance to local breast cancer patients, whilst helping to fund the programs and facilities needed to promote awareness and early detection. The generosity of our sponsors and supporters is making this possible and we applaud you all!
