Come out and visit our booth at The Cayman Islands Cancer Society Cancer Fair at the Marriott Ballroom on the 10th of September from 8.30am till 2pm.
At the free event, members of the public can learn more about the cancer risks they face and how to minimise them.
The Breast Cancer Foundation will be one of thirty exhibitors at the event. We provide information about the work of the foundation and how you can get involved. Every attendee will also have the chance to purchase a ticket to the upcoming Breast Cancer Gala Dinner, which is held on Saturday, 15th of October.
Other booths at the event include restaurants and stores that promote health foods and stalls offering health screenings for body mass index, blood pressure, bone density and cholesterol. At another booth, medical students will interview people about lifestyle, eating and exercise choices to help people assess their cancer risks and advise them on how to lower their risks.
Twelve physicians will be on hand at the fair to answer questions and give out advice. They come from near and far – Baptist International, Johns Hopkins, Oncology Referral Network of America, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami Health System, Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospital and the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority.
The health fair, which is held every two years, will cover a wide range of cancer-related topics and will address all kinds of cancers, including lung, bone, melanoma, thyroid, colon and pancreatic cancers, with specialists in those fields holding inpidual 20-minute seminars for the public.
