Training for a marathon takes many weeks and even more miles on the road. Many runners choose to raise funds for charities while training for a marathon. Local attorney Nicholas Dixey chose to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation while he was training for his 5th New York Marathon in November of last year. With support from his employer Mourant Ozannes, who matched his efforts, Mr. Dixey raised over CI$ 1,000 for the foundation.

“We are very happy as a firm to be able to support Nick in raising money for such an important cause,” says Peter Hayden, Partner at Mourant Ozannes. “On a personal level, I am also pleased to support him because my mother had to deal with breast cancer but thanks to the efforts of those who have raised money for the research and treatment of the condition she was able to make a full recovery. Events like that really bring home to you the enormously important and selfless contribution made by people like Nick.”

“We are very grateful for Nick’s and Mourant Ozannes support,” comments James Bovell, Director of the Breast Cancer Foundation. “The Foundation solely relies on private donations and income from our fundraising efforts to support local breast cancer patients and initiatives,” explains Kim Lund, also a director of the Foundation.
