Lead Volunteer for the Cold Cap Program
When did you start volunteering with BCF and why?
I started volunteering for the BCF in 2020 because during covid we had an influx of patients and up to 9 cold cappers at once.
Does any of your personal training help breast cancer patients and their families in Cayman?
Life experience has helped me in my work with patients. Just showing you’re human and can listen is a big thing.
Are there any tips to help breast cancer patients and survivors during their breast cancer journey?
They are not alone. There is an incredible network here on Island of survivors and experts to help them get through this. No one is left behind.
Can you tell us a memorable experience since being part of our Wellness Program?
I have had so many memorable experiences but working with the ladies directly and spending so much time with them has been a gift. I have met the most courageous and inspiring women through this program. Seeing the success rate of our cold cap progam makes me very proud. Knowing we have helped so many keep their hair has been a joy to be a part of.
An interesting fact about you?
I have taken many energy healing courses and am currently working to obtain a Reiki Master level.
