Fighting Breast Cancer with your support!
Goal: $50k
Breast cancer is a disease that has touched far too many lives. For John Sergides, its personal as he has witnessed its devastating effects on many women – friends, and family – that I love and care about. That’s why he took action and raised money to support the fight against cancer.
To support BCF’s fundraising efforts, John Sergides participated in the Bosphorus Cross-Continental Swim on August 20, 2023, a race organized by the Turkish Olympic Committee. The swim is a crossing from Asia to Europe from the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul. He trained diligently for this 6.5-kilometer race. I’ll be swimming with more than 2,400 competitors from across the globe we take over the Bosphorus waters, one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world (which is temporarily closed to traffic for the race).
With your support, we can make a real impact on the lives of those affected by this disease. Every dollar counts and together, we can help fund important research, provide support to those affected by breast cancer, and work towards finding a cure.
John selected the Breast Cancer Foundation in Grand Cayman as he has seen first-hand their phenomenal work supporting breast cancer patients with a multitude of holistic and medical services and counseling. They also work diligently in raising awareness and providing local practitioners with training in specialized areas including lymphatic drainage, and medical equipment to help prevent hair loss during chemotherapy, as well as confidential advice on and giving of wigs, bras, and prosthetics for those who have undergone breast surgery.
