The Breast Cancer Foundation was extremely fortunate in 2017 to be the recipient of the 100 Women in Finance’s charity fundraising efforts, we received an e-mail from them back in November of 2016 which read:- “100WHF is a global association for women involved in the hedge fund industry that holds a wide array of social events for members including speakers, networking, and an annual gala here in Cayman. The local chapter selects a different beneficiary charity each year for which proceeds from its events and gala throughout the year are directed. As the 2017 theme for selection of the beneficiary is Women and Family Health, I thought that the Breast Cancer Foundation may be an ideal candidate.”
We were thrilled when after submitting all the necessary information and accounts we were chosen. Throughout the year the ladies have organized various events, including their fabulous Bare Foot Beach Gala on the 25th March which was well attended and great fun to boot (pictured are the awesome committee ladies)!! Other events followed, including the annual mixology competition held at Camana Bay, it was a whirlwind fabulous year!!
All monies raised by the ladies has gone directly to fund our Wellness Program, helping the patients, survivors, and their families with the ordeal of their diagnosis and treatments for their breast cancer along with enabling the Foundation to start up their Awareness Program, with which we intend to reach as many people in Cayman to educate and help them understand the sign and symptoms of BC, what to do if they are diagnosed and let them know we are there to help them every step of the way.
The Foundation is extremely grateful to the 100 Women in Finance for choosing us and raising such a fabulous amount for us. THANK YOU!
