The Directors of the Breast Cancer Foundation were humbled and thrilled to have been chosen by Island Heritage as the recipient of their annual Charity Drive. We are so grateful to them.
The funds received from CharityDrive will go directly to our Wellness Program, which aims to help breast cancer patients here in Cayman to get through the debilitating and brutal treatments that they have to endure to beat this horrible disease, helping them to get well and stay well long term. We currently have 82 persons who are registered with our Wellness Program.
One in four women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. It is rarer in men but they can still get breast cancer. We aim to raise awareness, and early detection does indeed save lives.
