The countdown is on to the highly anticipated Breast Cancer Gala Dinner at the Ritz- Carlton on October 16th. The third annual pink tie charity event will feature a three-course menu, silent and live auctions, entertainment by Bona Fide, the DJ’s of OneWorld Entertainment and Vivendi, as well as a performance and keynote speech by ‘America’s Got Talent’ superstar Barbara Padilla sponsored by the Tonge family.

Ms. Padilla rose to fame in 2009 after her notable win as runner up on the popular reality show, created by Simon Cowell, with celebrity judges David Hasselhoff (currently replaced by Howie Mandel), Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne. Her remarkable soprano Opera voice, and inspiring Cancer survival story, has won her fans worldwide. While in college, Barbara was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and told she may never be able to sing again while undergoing potentially damaging treatments. Barbara fought a difficult struggle, finally reaching remission with the support of her family, friends and faith.
Each year the Breast Cancer Gala Dinner is a sold out success, largely due to the support of generous local sponsors. “We are grateful to have received so much support from the community this year. The generosity of our sponsors will be felt through the non-profit charities our event supports. Proceeds are donated to breast cancer patients and related initiatives of the Cayman Islands Cancer Society and the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens, through our newly established Breast Cancer Foundation”.
